Check this page regularly for updates on the status of visiting at each state institution. Every prison has visiting on Saturdays, Sundays, and four holidays during each calendar year (New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day). Events that may impact visiting include medical quarantines and modified programs.

Visits vary by institution but usually begin between 7:30 a.m. and end between 2 and 3 p.m. To find out the days and visiting hours for the prison you are going to visit, call 1-800-374-8474.

**Update: Effective October 9, 2021, Avenal State Prison visitation schedule will change as follows: Saturday will change to In-Person & Sunday will change to Video visit) Approved visitors can schedule the Saturday In Person visit Friday October 1st, from 0600 hours through Sunday at 1159 hours, to go into effect on October 9th. California City Correctional Facility
CAC Visiting Status - HYBRID VISITING UPDATE

Beginning Friday August 13, 2021 CAC will offer two-hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays between 11:30a.m and 06:30p.m. Scheduling for Friday in-person visits will be done via email at CACVideoVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov. The online Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) is being updated to accommodate Friday visits in the near future. VSA will still be used to schedule in-person visits for Saturdays and video visits for Sundays. Email requests for a Friday in-person visit must be received between Saturday 8 a.m. and Monday 8 a.m. for in-person visit requests for the following Friday. Visitors must arrive with either a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their schedule visit or their vaccination card indicating they are at least 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Self-administered tests (i.e. from a retail pharmacy) will not be accepted. Each individual entering into an institution will complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. Visitors will be spaced apart from the inmate by a minimum of six feet. Visitors shall be wearing a mask which shall be worn at all times during visiting. Masks must cover the nose and mouth. California Correctional Center
CCC Visiting Status - Visiting Update

As of 9/23/2021 Facilities B, C, and M are in Phase 3. FAC C Building 1 and 3 is on Quarantine/Isolation and will not be eligible for visits. Video visits ONLY by cohorts until further notice. Please arrive one hour prior to your scheduled visit. Visitors must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to the visit. Tests performed off-site must be either a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests or a rapid Point-of-Care test. Antibody tests will not be accepted. Visitors will not be allowed into the institution without proof of a negative COVID-19 test. California Correctional Institution
CCI Visiting Status - Family Visiting

Effective Saturday August 7, 2021 CCI will no longer offer onsite COVID-19 testing for visitors. CCI offers In-Person visitation on FRIDAYS and SATURDAYS and Video Visitation on SUNDAYS. Visitation will be by appointment only using Visitation Scheduling Application to schedule video and in-person visits. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 9, approved visitors will be able to schedule Friday visits occurring the following week using CDCR’s Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). The request window for Friday visits will open Thursdays at 6 a.m. and close on Sundays at 1159 p.m. Starting Saturday Oct. 2, CCI will be swapping weekend In-Person and Video Visiting days (In-Person will move from Sundays to Saturdays and Video Visits will move from Saturdays to Sundays, Friday In-Person Visits are unaffected). This change will be reflected on VSA for visitors scheduling visits starting on Friday Sept. 24. Visiting sessions will be two hours with up to three approved visitors over the age of 2 per inmate. All Visitors including family visitors and minors are required to provide either a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours prior to the visit for admission into the institution. Vaccinated visitors must present a valid vaccination card noting they are at least two weeks past their final injection. Vending machines are available during the visit. California Health Care Facility
CHCF Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting Model

Friends Outside will not be providing services at their visitor centers for Friday visiting until a new contract is complete. Not all who have requested will be receiving a visit based on Covid capacity restrictions etc. CDCR institutions have discontinued onsite COVID-19 testing for visitors. Visitors must continue to present printed proof of full vaccination status or results from a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before their scheduled visit. As of Friday August 13, CDCR is adding a third day of visiting. Institutions in Phase 2/3 will offer 2 hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays between noon and 7 p.m. CHCF is currently in Phase 3 with a Hybrid Visiting Model As of 10/20/21- Bldg's B2A, B2B, C6A, C5B and D2A are unavailable for visiting due to Covid restrictions. CHCF has video visiting on SUNDAYS and in-person visiting on FRIDAYS/SATURDAYS. In-Person visiting will be by email request from 8am Saturday to 8am Monday for the following weekend only. Visiting sessions will be 2 hour sessions. Three (3)approved visitors, including minors over the age of 2 will be scheduled per inmate. California Institution for Men
CIM Visiting Status - COVID Testing Update

Beginning Friday August 13, 2021 CIM will offer two-hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays between noon and 7p.m. EFFECTIVE September 16, 2021 all visitors can now schedule all visits utilizing Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) for Friday(In Person), Saturday (In Person) and Sunday (Video). Starting on August 7, 2021, Chino Institution for Men will no longer provide on-site rapid testing for approved visitors who did not have proof of vaccination or a valid negative test result. Visitors must arrive with either a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their schedule visit or their vaccination card indicating they are at least 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Self-administered tests (i.e. from a retail pharmacy) will not be accepted. Each individual entering into an institution will complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. All visitors who visit on Charlie Yard, you are now directed to check in at the Charlie Processing area. ATTENTION TO ALL VISITORS. All Visitors with the exception of Charlie will be directed to residence #6 for processing. Residence #6 is located across the street from the main processing area. This will only be effective for 10/1/2021.

California Institution for Women
CIW Visiting Status - Modified Visiting

As of October 7, 2021, California Institution for Women is now operating under Phase 2 of the Roadmap to Reopening. CIW will be offering In-Person Visiting on Friday’s from 12:30pm to 7:00pm and Sunday’s from 8:30am to 3:00pm in 2 hour increments. Under Phase 2, only 1 approved visitor is allowed and no minors at this time. Video Visiting will continue on Saturdays from 830am - 330pm in 1 hour increments. Additionally for in-person visits, all visitors shall wear a mask, which must cover the nose and mouth at all times. Visitors who can provide proof of being fully vaccinated -those who received their last dose two or more weeks ago - will not be required to provide a negative COVID test. Visitors who are NOT fully vaccinated are required to provide a negative polymerase chain reaction(PCR) COVID-19 test result from a test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to their visit. The use of vending machines & water fountains will not be allowed during the visit therefore water will be provided for consumption during the visit. California Medical Facility
CMF Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting

California Medical Facility (CMF) is currently operating in Phase 3. Effective Saturday, August 7, 2021, CDCR institutions will discontinue onsite testing for visitors. Visitors must arrive at the visiting processing window with either a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their scheduled visit or their vaccination card indicating they are 14 days past the final injection. Visitors will no longer be required to report to the previous screening area. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 9, approved visitors will be able to schedule Friday visits occurring the following week using CDCR’s Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). The request window for Friday visits will open Thursdays at 6 a.m. and close on Sundays at 11:59 p.m.Effective October 2, 2021 CMF will implement the new visitation schedule. CMF will transition to Friday, Saturday in person visiting and Sunday video visiting. The request will go live on Friday September 24, 2021 for the following week. The current Video and Saturday In-Person visitation will continue to be by appointment only by utilizing the following website cdcr.gtlvisitme.com . Only three approved visitors may be scheduled per inmate (minors must be at least 2 years old) for in person visiting. Visitors shall wear a mask, which shall be worn at all times during visiting. If your loved one is housed in a quarantine/isolation unit, they will not be able to receive either video or in-person visits. Vending machines are now available with cold item food and microwave usage is currently unavailable as we continue to practice social distancing procedures. The photo ducat program is currently unavailable. CMF has also transitioned back into in person marriages, which will consist of following the social distancing policy.

CMC Visiting Status - HYBRID VISITING

Update: Effective October 2, 2021, CMC’s visitation schedule changes (Saturday to In-Person & Sunday to Video) will go live on 9-24-21 for visits on 10-2-21. California Rehabilitation Center
CRC Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting

Beginning Friday August 13, CDCR/CRC is adding a third day of visitation. CRC will offer two-hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays. Scheduling for Friday in-person visits will be done via email. The online Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) is being updated to accommodate Friday visits in the near future. VSA will still be used to schedule in-person and video visits for Saturdays and Sundays. Email requests for a Friday in-person visit must be received between Saturday at 8 a.m. and Monday at 8 a.m. for in-person visit requests for the following Friday. The times available for visits are 1100 to 1300 – 1345 to 1545 and 1630 to 1830. The times will be assigned by staff on a first come first serve basis. The VSA scheduling window begins Friday, July 2 at 6 a.m. for a visit on Saturday, July 10 and on Saturday, July 3 at 6 a.m. for a visit on Sunday, July 11.Video visiting sessions will be one-hour sessions, in-person visiting sessions will be two-hour sessions with thirty (30) minutes in between sessions to disinfect visiting areas. Up to three (3) approved visitor will be scheduled per inmate ages two and above.Effective Saturday, August 7, 2021, CDCR institutions will discontinue onsite testing for visitors. California State Prison Corcoran
COR Visiting Status - In-Person Visiting Update

Beginning October 4, 2021, Facility 3A has been placed on Phase 1. Beginning October 10, 2021, Facility 3C has has been placed on Phase 1, visits will not be allowed until further notice. An update will be given when Facility 3A and 3C will move to phase 2. CSP-Corcoran is accepting email request for all visiting days. An update will be given when VSA will be effective for scheduling. Effective September 25, 2021, a separate email request must be sent for each day requesting a visit. CSP-Corcoran is offering a 3 Day in-Person Visiting Program. Friends Outside will not be able to provide services on Friday’s visitation day. Requests will be accepted beginning Saturday, at 8:00 am through Monday, at 8:00 am and will be accepted one week in advance. The following areas will have visiting available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; Facility 3A, 3A03, 3B, ASU, 4B, MSF, 4A STRH, LTRH, THU and DPU. Facility 3C, STG II Bulldogs will have visiting on Saturdays and STG I EME/Mexican Mafia and STG II Sureno and Paisa will have visiting on Sundays. Inmates affected by the Bifurcated Program will have visits (every other Friday, based on rotation). Non affected inmates will have visiting available Friday through Sunday. Facility 4A RCGP and PHU inmates receive visits on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Appointments will be available on Fridays at 1:00 and 4:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays beginning at 9:30. Effective August 7, 2021, onsite testing for visitors is discontinued. Visitors must arrive with a negative COVID test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their visit or their vaccination card indicating they are 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Visitors must arrive 1 hour before their visit.

California State Prison Los Angeles
LAC Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting Program - Phase 3

CSP-LAC allows approved Visitors to visit by video or in person. All Visits must be scheduled online by prospective visitors using GTL’s Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) at https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app. LAC is not able to accommodate scheduling of visits the same-day, over the phone, or walk-ins. Out of state visitors: please contact the Institution’s Public Information Officer for details to arrange a visit. UPDATED VISITING SCHEDULE: Effective 9/24/2021, Video Visiting will be moved to Sundays with In Person Visiting on Fridays 12:00pm-7:00pm and Saturdays 8:30am-3:30pm. A maximum of 3 Visitors shall be allowed per inmate per visit. Minors over the age of 2 years are permitted during Phase 3 at the Institution and will be counted towards the 3-Visitor limit. Visitors must arrive one hour PRIOR to their scheduled visit. COVID TESTING/SCREENING: Fully vaccinated Visitors with valid proof of full vaccination are not required to provide a negative PCR COVID-19 test result. Unvaccinated Visitors must provide proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result from a test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to the visit. Find your nearest testing location at: https://covid19.ca.gov/get-tested Visitors shall wear an approved procedural mask covering the nose and mouth at all times. Vending machines are allowed during Phase 3. Photo ducat program is not available. SCHEDULING FAQs: “No stations available…” The time slot is already full, or the inmate is not eligible for visiting. Staff cannot manually schedule any visits to override it. ”The system crashes when I try to confirm a visit”. Heavy internet traffic is overloading online servers during scheduling - please continue trying to schedule through VSA. Visiting Staff do not maintain GTL's online servers.

SAC Visiting Status - In-Person Visiting

Beginning August 7, 2021 CSP-Sacramento will discontinue onsite COVID-19 testing for visitors. Visitors must arrive at least an hour prior to their scheduled visit with a negative COVID test result from a test taken within 72 hours or their vaccination card indicating they are 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Beginning Thursday, September 9, 2021 approved visitors are able to schedule Friday visits through VSA. The request window for FRIDAY visits will open Thursday at 6am and close Sunday at 11:59pm. The request window for SATURDAY visits will open on Friday at 6am and close on Monday at 11:59pm. The visit request for SUNDAY visits will open on Saturday at 6am and close on Tuesday at 11:59pm.Vending machines are not available, a bottle of water will be provided to each visitor and inmate. Inmates on quarantine status will NOT be allowed to participate in visiting. Social distancing will be implemented and masks will be provided to all visitors and inmates. California State Prison Solano
SOL Visiting Status - UPDATE 10/20/21

*UPDATE 10/20/2021* Effective immediately ALL In-Person and Video Visits are canceled at CSP SOLANO for October 22-25. Scheduled Family Visits will still be completed. Visiting Schedule has changed to Friday and Saturday in- Person Visiting, Sunday Video Visits .Facility B currently on Phase 2 - 1 visitor 1 Inmate NO VENDING MACHINES. Facility A, C, and D are on Phase 3 up to 3 visitors (minors aged 2 years or older). Family visits are scheduled for buildings 13-24. Due to COVID restrictions Friday visits will be In-Person for Facility A, C and D. In Person visits on Saturday for Facility B, C, and D. Sunday will continue with Video visits held from 7a.m. to 3p.m. All visiting appointments are now scheduled by utilizing the visiting scheduling app (VSA). Visitors are required to wear a mask, at all times during In-Person visiting, for Phase 3 In-person visiting vending services and children's play area will be allowed. Visitors who are not fully vaccinated are required to provide a negative (PCR) COVID-19 test result test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to visit. Visitors are allowed to arrive up to 1 hour prior to the start of visit. This will alleviate the risk of missing your scheduled visit. There will be no extended time allowed should this occur.

SATF Visiting Status - Visiting Update

Friday visits will now be scheduled through GTL/VSA, the reservation for Friday In Person visits will open on Thursdays at 6:00am and close on Sundays at 11:59pm. Visitors will not be permitted on grounds prior to 11:00 a.m. on Fridays, and 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Video and Saturday In-person visits are scheduled through VSA/GTL as follows: http://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app. The reservation for Video Visits begins Friday through Wednesday at 6am to 11:59 PM each day reservations are open. In-person visit request period are open from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. beginning eight days prior to the date of the visit. In-Person will allow two additional visitors per inmate for three approved visitors (age 2 and above). CSATF follows all public health protocols while conducting visitation. CDCR institutions has discontinued onsite COVID-19 testing for visitors. CAL Visiting Status - Friday in person Visiting

Visitors are reminded that there are absolutely no drop-offs permitted at this time. Should a visitor arrive to be dropped off, they will be denied entry and their visit will be cancelled. This applies to both in-person visiting or Family Visiting. CEN Visiting Status - Hybird Visiting- Phase3

UPDATE: Offenders housed in Facility C, A5, B4, and D5 will not be eligible to receive video or in-person visit. Centinela State Prison is on Hybrid Visiting-Phase 3 Status. Facilities A, B, D, C-6 (Ad-Seg) and E will have visits. In-person visits, including Ad-seg/Non-Contact visits, and Video Visits may be scheduled via the VSA. For In-Person Visits, Arrive 1 hour prior to your scheduled appointment. Provide proof of being fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours. CVSP Visiting Status - Hybrid Video/In-person Visiting

Starting Saturday, September 18, 2021, CVSP will be offering three In-Person Visiting time slots. These time slots are as follows: 8:00am-10:00am; 10:30am-12:30pm; and 1:00pm-3:00pm. CDCR will no longer accept visitation appointment requests through email. VSA allows approved visitors to easily schedule their own visits and receive instant confirmation of their request. In-Person Visiting shall be limited to three pre-approved visitors (age 2 and above) per inmate for two hours only. Inmates assigned to quarantine/isolation units will not have the ability to receive either in-person or video visits. There will be no walk-in appointments. Visitors should arrive at least one-hour prior to their scheduled appointment with a negative PCR or POC test result from a test taken within 72 hours. Currently, visitors who can show proof that they are fully vaccinated (two weeks after their final shot) will not be required to provide COVID testing. Correctional Training Facility
CTF Visiting Status - Visiting

CTF’s bifurcated program allows visitations to be scheduled, beginning Thursday at 6:00 AM for Group 1 (Central) and for Facility B (North). (Group 2 visitation begins scheduling on Saturday at 6:00 AM for Sunday 9/19.) This scheduling is for the following weekend 9/17, 9/18, & 9/19. As of September 9th all visitations, including newly added Fridays, will be scheduled through the Visitation Scheduling Application (https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app). As of September 24th video visitation will begin being scheduled for Sundays only, for visits on beginning 10-2-21 and moving forward. Up to three (3) approved visitors will be scheduled per inmate ages two and above. Visits will be limited capacity to maintain social distancing requirements. Effective Saturday, August 7, 2021, CDCR institutions will discontinue onsite testing for visitors. Visitors that are vaccinated may enter by showing a vaccination card indicating they are at least 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Visitors that are not fully vaccinated are still required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to visit. Folsom State Prison
FSP Visiting Status - Visitation Status

The institution is in Phase 3 and we are currently offering In-Person Visiting every Friday evening and every Saturday morning. We also offer Video Visiting every Sunday morning. In-person visits for Friday, Saturday and Video Visiting on Sunday, will all be scheduled through the VSA. In-person visits will be by appointment only, two-hour sessions with 30 minutes in between sessions to disinfect areas. FSP has discontinued onsite testing for visitors. Visitors must provide proof of vaccination indicating they are at least 14 days past final injection series or bring a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of their scheduled visit. Visit https://covid19.ca.gov/get-tested/ for state-sponsored testing clinics. Visitors will be spaced from the inmate by a minimum of six feet. Visitors shall wear a mask at all times. This is an update regarding the High Desert State Prison’s current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions based on each Facility’s requirements. Facility A, B, and D are currently on Phase III protocol which allows each inmate 3 visitors (3 adults or 1 adult/2minors). Facility C is currently on lockdown procedure until further notice therefore no visits are allowed to be scheduled at this time. Facility C is also on Phase II protocol which allows each inmate 1 adult visitor; this will take effect after the lockdown procedure is over. KVSP is currently operating in Phase 3 for Visiting. In-person visits are now FRI, SAT and video visits on SUN. Video and In-Person visits will be by appointment only. All visiting appointments will be scheduled through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). Visits can be scheduled 8 days prior to the visiting day being requested. MCSP Visiting Status - Video and In Person

10/19/2021: MCSP is at Phase 3 for all facilities. In-person visits on Fridays and Saturdays and video visits on Sundays are scheduled through the VSA program at https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app In-person visits are now two hours long with three visitors total; two visitors may be children age 2 or older. Effective August 30, 2021 NKSP Reception Center will be on Phase I and will not have in person visitation at this time. Video Visits will still be available on Sunday. Friends outside will not be available on Fridays. Appointments will be from 11am to 7pm, and can be made through GTL on Thursdays at 0600am. All Visitors who are fully vaccinated may bring their vaccination card and will not require a COVID test prior to visiting. All other Visitors will require a Negative COVID test within 72 hours before entering the institution. Beginning August 7, 2021 CDCR will no longer offer on site rapid testing. Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) is on Phase III of the Roadmap to Reopening for all facilities. Visitors providing proof of being fully vaccinated will not be required to provide a routine COVID test. All visitors, including minors, who have not provided proof of vaccination are required to provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the visit. Facility A building 4 are ineligible for In-Person visits, their visits will be scheduled manually for a video visit.
