Check this page regularly for updates on the status of visiting at each state institution. Every prison has visiting on Saturdays, Sundays, and four holidays during each calendar year (New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day). Events that may impact visiting include medical quarantines and modified programs.

Visits vary by institution but usually begin between 7:30 a.m. and end between 2 and 3 p.m. To find out the days and visiting hours for the prison you are going to visit, call 1-800-374-8474.

**Update: Effective October 9, 2021, Avenal State Prison visitation schedule will change as follows: Saturday will change to In-Person & Sunday will change to Video visit) Approved visitors can schedule the Saturday In Person visit Friday October 1st, from 0600 hours through Sunday at 1159 hours, to go into effect on October 9th. For Friday In-person visitations, the VSA will be open to accept reservations from 0600 - 2359 hours each day Thursday through Sunday for the following weekend. For Saturday in-person visitations, the VSA will be open to accept reservations from 0600 - 2359 hours each day Friday through Monday for the following weekend. ASP will no longer provide on-site rapid COVID-19 testing for approved visitors who do not have proof of vaccination or a valid negative test result. California City Correctional Facility
CAC Visiting Status - VISITING UPDATE

Beginning Friday November 12, 2021 CAC will no longer be on a rotation basis for visits. Visiting will now be open to all facilities each weekend. VSA will still be used to schedule in-person visits for Fridays and Saturdays and video visits for Sundays. Visitors must arrive with either a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their schedule visit or their vaccination card indicating they are at least 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Self-administered tests (i.e. from a retail pharmacy) will not be accepted. Each individual entering into an institution will complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. Visitors will be spaced apart from the inmate by a minimum of six feet. Visitors shall be wearing a mask which shall be worn at all times during visiting. Masks must cover the nose and mouth. Vending machines are allowed during Phase 3 visiting. Photo ducat program will not be available at this time.

California Correctional Center
CCC Visiting Status - Visiting Update

As of 11/24/2021 Facilities B, C, and M are in Phase 3. FAC B Dorm 71 and FAC C Building 3 are on Quarantine/Isolation and will not be eligible for visits. Please arrive one hour prior to your scheduled visit. Visitors must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no longer than 72 hours prior to the visit. Tests performed off-site must be either a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests or a rapid Point-of-Care test. Antibody tests will not be accepted. Visitors will not be allowed into the institution without proof of a negative COVID-19 test. California Correctional Institution
CCI Visiting Status - Family Visiting

The scheduling window has closed for visitors requesting a visit for in-person visiting on Thursday, Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Because Christmas and New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday, the appointment process continues through the VSA. Effective Saturday August 7, 2021 CCI will no longer offer onsite COVID-19 testing for visitors. CCI offers In-Person visitation on FRIDAYS and SATURDAYS and Video Visitation on SUNDAYS. Visitation will be by appointment only using Visitation Scheduling Application to schedule video and in-person visits. Visiting sessions will be two hours with up to three approved visitors over the age of 2 per inmate. All Visitors including family visitors and minors are required to provide either a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours prior to the visit for admission into the institution. Vaccinated visitors must present a valid vaccination card noting they are at least two weeks past their final injection. Vending machines are available during the visit. California Health Care Facility
CHCF Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting Model

Friends Outside will not be providing services at their visitor centers for Friday visiting until a new contract is complete. Not all who have requested will be receiving a visit based on Covid capacity restrictions etc. CDCR institutions have discontinued onsite COVID-19 testing for visitors. Visitors must continue to present printed proof of full vaccination status or results from a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours before their scheduled visit. As of Friday August 13, CDCR is adding a third day of visiting. Institutions in Phase 2/3 will offer 2 hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays between noon and 7 p.m. CHCF is currently in Phase 3 with a Hybrid Visiting Model As of 11/29/21- Bldg's B4A, B6A, B6B, C3A, C4B, and D3A, are unavailable for visiting due to Covid restrictions. CHCF has video visiting on SUNDAYS and in-person visiting on FRIDAYS/SATURDAYS. In-Person visiting will be by email request from 8am Saturday to 8am Monday for the following weekend only. Visiting sessions will be 2 hour sessions. Three (3)approved visitors, including minors over the age of 2 will be scheduled per inmate. California Institution for Men
CIM Visiting Status - COVID Testing Update

Beginning Friday August 13, 2021 CIM will offer two-hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays between noon and 7p.m. EFFECTIVE September 16, 2021 all visitors can now schedule all visits utilizing Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) for Friday(In Person), Saturday (In Person) and Sunday (Video). Starting on August 7, 2021, Chino Institution for Men will no longer provide on-site rapid testing for approved visitors who did not have proof of vaccination or a valid negative test result. Visitors must arrive with either a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their schedule visit or their vaccination card indicating they are at least 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. Self-administered tests (i.e. from a retail pharmacy) will not be accepted. Each individual entering into an institution will complete a daily self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. ATTENTION TO ALL VISITORS. Visitors are permitted to wear gloves and a scarf when visiting an inmate. All Visitors with the exception of Charlie will be directed to residence #6 for processing. Residence #6 is located across the street from the main processing area.

California Institution for Women
CIW Visiting Status - Phase III

CIW will be providing a third-day in-person visit on Fridays, from 12pm - 7pm in addition to in-person visits on Sundays, 8:30am-2:30pm. Video Visits are held on Saturdays, 8:30am-3:30pm, 1 hour increments. In-person visits will be scheduled in 2 hour increments. Saturday & Sunday visits will be scheduled by visitors using https://www.cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app . Utilize the drop down box ‘Visitation Scheduling Application’ (VSA) for In-Person Visits. For Video Visits, when you are selecting an Inmate Station and your incarcerated loved one requires Closed Captioning please select,“ksk_CIWVisitYardA1”. Scheduling window will open for Saturdays & Sundays at 8am Saturday and close 12am Wednesday for the following weekend. For now, visitors will schedule Friday visits via e-mail request CIWVideoVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov beginning at 8am the Saturday before and end at 8am the Monday prior to the visit. Minors 2 years and older may visit however they will follow COVID testing protocols. All visitors shall wear a mask AT ALL TIMES. Visitors who are fully vaccinated (those who received their last dose two or more weeks ago) and provide a COVID 19 original vaccination card will not be required to provide a negative COVID test. Visitors who are NOT fully vaccinated are required to provide a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test result within 72 hours prior to the visit. A negative result will be required for the visit to go forward. Visitors can find testing locations at https://covid19.ca.gov/get-tested/. Visitors are required to arrive at least 1 hour prior to their scheduled time. The use of vending machines are now available for In-Peron visiting only. Conditions may change at any time. California Medical Facility
CMF Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting

California Medical Facility (CMF) is currently operating in Phase 3.Visitors must arrive at the visiting processing window with either a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their scheduled visit or their vaccination card indicating they are 14 days past the final injection. The current Video and Saturday In-Person visitation will continue to be by appointment only by utilizing the following website cdcr.gtlvisitme.com . Only three approved visitors may be scheduled per inmate (minors must be at least 2 years old) for in person visiting. Visitors shall wear a mask, which shall be worn at all times during visiting. If your loved one is housed in a quarantine/isolation unit, they will not be able to receive either video or in-person visits. Vending machines are now available with cold item food and microwave usage is currently unavailable as we continue to practice social distancing procedures. A maximum of four participants per photo will be permitted at one time (Incarcerated person, plus three visitors).Individuals may briefly remove their mask while being photographed.For the duration of being photographed, participants are not required to stand six feet apart.Once photo is taken, all individuals must immediately put their mask back on, keep six feet of physical distance between one another, and adhere to all existing COVID-19 health and safety protocols. All those who have completed the COVID-19 vaccine series by December 20, 2021 shall be eligible to participate in in-Person visiting to include family (overnight) visiting. All others will be eligible for video-visiting which will consist of following the social distancing policy.

CMC Visiting Status - HYBRID VISITING

California Rehabilitation Center
CRC Visiting Status - Hybrid Visiting

Beginning Friday August 13, CDCR/CRC is adding a third day of visitation. CRC will offer two-hour in-person visiting sessions on Fridays. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:Facility C no in person visits. The online Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA) is being updated to accommodate Friday visits in the near future. VSA will still be used to schedule in-person and video visits for Saturdays and Sundays. Email requests for a Friday in-person visit must be received between Saturday at 8 a.m. and Monday at 8 a.m. for in-person visit requests for the following Friday. The times available for visits are 1100 to 1300 – 1345 to 1545 and 1630 to 1830. The times will be assigned by staff on a first come first serve basis. The VSA scheduling window begins Friday, July 2 at 6 a.m. for a visit on Saturday, July 10 and on Saturday, July 3 at 6 a.m. for a visit on Sunday, July 11.Video visiting sessions will be one-hour sessions, in-person visiting sessions will be two-hour sessions with thirty (30) minutes in between sessions to disinfect visiting areas. Up to three (3) approved visitor will be scheduled per inmate ages two and above.Effective Saturday, August 7, 2021, CDCR institutions will discontinue onsite testing for visitors. COR Visiting Status - In-Person Visiting Update

CSP-Corcoran is offering In-Person Visiting and requests are accepted by emailing CORVideoVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov beginning Saturdays at 8:00 am through Mondays at 8:00 am one week prior to the visiting weekend. Please read the following information as our facilities continue to move back and forth in phases. Facility 3A is projected to begin Phase 2 on 11/23/2021. Facility 3B started Phase 3 on 11/19/2021. Facility 3C is projected to begin Phase 3 on 11/24/2021. Requests for visits for Facility 3A may be submitted beginning Saturday, 11/20/2021 at 8:00 am through Monday, 11/22/2021 at 8:00 am. All other facilities are currently in Phase 3. Family visiting will be scheduled in accordance with the facility phases. The following areas will have visiting available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; Facility 3A, 3A03, 3B, 3C, ASU, 4B, MSF, 4A STRH, LTRH, THU and DPU. Facility 4A RCGP and PHU inmates visit on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Inmates affected by the Bifurcated Program on Facility 3C will alternate Fridays, STG-II Bulldogs will receive visits every Saturday and STG-II Surenos, Paisa and EME will receive visits every Sunday. Non-affected inmates may receive visits on any visiting day. Appointments will be available on Fridays at 1:00 and 4:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays beginning at 9:30. Effective August 7, 2021, onsite testing for visitors is discontinued. Visitors must arrive with a negative COVID test result from a test taken within 72 hours of their visit or their vaccination card indicating they are 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series.

SAC Visiting Status - In Person/Video Visiting

CSP-Sac is currently operating in Phase 3 for Visiting. In Person visits are now Friday (1130am-630pm), Saturday (0730am-230pm) and Sunday is designated for Video Visiting. In-Person and Video Visits will be by appointment only. All Visiting appointments must be scheduled online at cdcr.gtlvisitme.com and can be scheduled 8 days prior to the visiting day being requested. Visitors are required to provide their COVID Vaccination card or printed documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the visit. CSP-Sac is no longer providing COVID testing. Vending machines are available for beverages and dry snacks, microwaves are currently not available. Overnight Family Visiting has returned. SOL Visiting Status - UPDATE 11/28/21

EFFECTIVE 11/28/21 Buildings 2, 3, and 5 are on Phase 1. No in person visits allowed. CSP SOLANO is currently operating in Phase 3 for Buildings 1, 4, 6, B, C, & D YARD. Visiting Schedule is Friday and Saturday - In-Person Visiting, Sunday -Video Visits. Only three approved visitors may be scheduled per inmate (minors must be at least 2 years old) for In-person visiting. Visitors will be provided a mask, which shall be worn at all times during visiting. If your loved one is housed in a quarantine/isolation unit, they will not be able to receive either video or in-person visits. California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility
SATF Visiting Status - visiting update

As of 11/22/2021, No General Visiting or Family Visiting for Facility C. Phase 1: Video Visits ONLY for Facility C Buildings C5, C6, and C8. NO Visits, or Family Visits for Facility C Bld. 3 and 4, Facility E Bld. 2, Facility F Bld. 1, A and B Sections. In-Person & Video Visits are scheduled through VSA/GTL as follows: https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app. Information on how to reserve an appointment can be found at: https://www.cdcr.ca.gov/visitors. CSATF follows all public health protocols while conducting visits. All visitors must present PRINTED proof of full vaccination status, a vaccine card or results from a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the scheduled visit. Name and date of negative test must be clearly identifiable. Effective 12/20/2021, only those incarcerated persons who have completed the COVID-19 vaccine series shall be eligible to participate in In-Person and family (Overnight) visiting. All others will be eligible for video visiting. Masking, physical distance requirements and visitor requirements will remain unchanged.

CAL Visiting Status - Friday in person Visiting

Update!! Sunday Video Visits for A Yard will be limited to A1 and A3 housing unit. Until further notice A1 and A3 will be on a rotational schedule beginning with A1 on Sunday 11/28/2021 and then A3 on 12/5/2021 and alternating every weekend while under medical observation. Appointment requests for Thanksgiving Day visiting only must be submitted via email. Scheduling may be made beginning Saturday, Nov. 13 at 8 a.m. through Monday Nov. 15 at 8 a.m. @ CALVideoVisiting@cdcr.ca.gov Requests will be scheduled in the order they are received. The request window for Friday visits will open Thursdays at 6 a.m. and close on Sundays at 11:59 p.m. The request window for Saturday visits will open Fridays at 6 a.m. and close on Mondays at 11:59 p.m. The request window for Sunday visits will open Saturday at 6 a.m. and close on Tuesday’s at 11:59 p.m. VSA will be used to schedule in-person and video visits for Friday’s, Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Visitors are reminded that there are absolutely no drop-offs permitted at this time. Should a visitor arrive to be dropped off, they will be denied entry and their visit will be cancelled. UPDATE: Offenders housed in Facility A5, B3, B4, and D5 will not be eligible to receive video or in-person visit. Facilities A, B, D, C-6 (Ad-Seg) and E is on Hybrid Visiting -Phase 3 and will have In-Person Visits and Video Visits. Facility C is on Phase II and is tentative to be Phase III November 23rd. CCWF Visiting Status - Hybrid Model

Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) is currently operating in Phase III and has transitioned to a Hybrid Visiting Model. Video Visitation (one hour sessions) on SUNDAY and in person (two hour sessions) on FRIDAY and SATURDAY. CVSP Visiting Status - Hybrid Video/In-person Visiting

As of November 9, 2021, CVSP is on Normal Program. Visiting time slots for Saturday are as follows: 08:00-10:00am; 10:30am-12:30pm; and 1:00-3:00pm In-Person Visiting shall be limited to three pre-approved visitors (age 2 and above) per inmate for two hours only. Inmates assigned to quarantine/isolation units will not have the ability to receive either in-person or video visits. There will be no walk-in appointments. Visitors should arrive at least one-hour prior to their scheduled appointment with a negative PCR or POC test result from a test taken within 72 hours. Currently, visitors who can show proof that they are fully vaccinated (two weeks after their final shot) will not be required to provide COVID testing. CTF Visiting Status - Visiting

CTF’s bifurcated program allows for In-Person Visitations to be scheduled for Group 2 (Central) and for Facility B (North) on Thursday 11/18, at 6:00 AM. Video Visitation for Group 1 (Central) and Facility B (North) begins scheduling on Saturday 11/20 at 6:00 AM for Sunday 11/28. This scheduling is for the following weekend 11/26, 11/27, and 11/28. In-Person Visitations are Fridays and Saturdays. Video Visitations are Sundays. Up to three (3) approved visitors will be scheduled per inmate ages two and above. Visitations are to be scheduled through the Visitation Scheduling Application (https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app). CDCR institutions have discontinued onsite testing for visitors. Holiday Visiting CDCR institutions and fire camps will offer an additional day of in-person visiting on Thursday, Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Updated November 2,2021 Thanksgiving Visiting CDCR institutions and fire camps will offer an additional day of in-person visiting on Thursday, Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Appointment requests for Thanksgiving Day visiting only must be submitted to each institution and camp via email. (See below for dates and details) Upcoming Changes Effective Dec. 20, 2021, all incarcerated people in CDCR institutions and fire camps must be fully vaccinated or have an approved medical or religious accommodation in order to participate in in-person visiting after December 20, 2021. This mandate does not apply to visitors and existing COVID-19 vaccination and testing requirements will remain the same. The Photo Ducat Program will soon resume during visiting at institutions in Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Roadmap to Reopening Details coming soon. Ironwood State Prison is on a hybrid-visiting schedule. ISP is currently operating in Phase III. ISP is conducting in person visits on Friday from 12-7pm and on Saturday from 830am-330pm. KVSP Visiting Status - Update

KVSP is operating in Phase 3 for Visiting. In-person visits are now FRI/SAT and video visits on SUN. Video and In-Person visits are by appointment only. All appointments will be scheduled through the Visitation Scheduling Application (VSA). Visitors schedule 8 days prior to the visiting day being requested. MCSP Visiting Status - Video and In Person

11/16/2021: A Facility is Phase 2. MCSP is at Phase 3 for all other facilities. In-person visits on Fridays and Saturdays and video visits on Sundays are scheduled through the VSA program at https://cdcr.gtlvisitme.com/app In-person visits are now two hours long with three visitors total; two visitors may be children age 2 or older. Visitors must arrive with either a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their scheduled visit or their vaccination card indicating they are at least 14 days past the final injection of their vaccination series. CDCR institutions have discontinued onsite testing for visitors. Effective November 19, 2021 Photo Ducats will be available for purchase for A and M Yard Visits. Effective November 15, 2021, Facility B and C will be back to Phase I and will not be able to receive In Person Visits. NKSP Reception Center will be on Phase II and will allow One (1) person at a time to visit an inmate on Friday and Saturday (in person behind glass visits). Please note ONLY ONE Visitor is Allowed. This is for Facility D. Video Visits will still be available on Sunday. Friends outside will not be available on Fridays. All Visitors who are fully vaccinated may bring their vaccination card and will not require a COVID test prior to visiting. All other Visitors will require a Negative COVID test within 72 hours before entering the institution. Beginning August 7, 2021 CDCR will no longer offer on site rapid testing. BE ADVISED:San Quentin State Prison will be hosting in-person visits for Thanksgiving Day on November 25, 2021, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. To sign up, email us at SQVIDEOVISITING@CDCR.CA.GOV.
